Belinda Bolitho, Lymphodema Therapist

Owner operator Belinda Flutter (Bolitho)

Belinda is a holistic therapist that specialises in lymphatic drainage. Belinda's passion for everything lymph Has seen HER travel to Austria to complete training as a lymphodema therapist.
She also organiSes the Dr Vodder training in Perth.

Belinda has been working as a remedial massage therapist since 2002 and HAS BEEN LECTURING since 2008.

Lymphodema Therapist
Belinda graduated from the Internationally recognized Dr Vodder School in Austria in 2014. She has completed more than 160 hours of training in manual lymphatic drainage and combined decongestive therapy.

Belinda started lecturing at South Metropolitan TAFE (formerly Challenger Institute of Technology) in 2008, where she delivers both online and face to face classes. She specialises in the Moodle learning management system for the online delivery and has created the course content for the following areas:
— Manual Lymphatic Drainage. MLD is part of the Diploma of Remedial Massage, as part of the unit HLTREM502B Provide remedial massage treatment. Belinda specialises in MLD. She has attended many courses in the advanced hands on techniques with a variety of facilitators including:
  • Susan Rollinson through Challenger TAFE.
  • Jan Douglass with the Dr Vodder School.
  • Michelle Yaffe through Complementary Health Seminars.
  • Jil Griffiths through the Weller Institute.
— Anatomy & Pathology. A & P is taught at a basic CIV level (HLTAP401B Confirm physical health status) and as part of the Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLTAP501B Analise health information). Belinda has contextualised the content to reflect the need for the massage industry. Students learn the general structure and function of the human body and how to apply therapeutic massage for pathological conditions. This is delivered both face to face and on-line.
— Business. Business units are a part of the CIV in Massage (HLTCOM405D Administer a practice, HLTCOM406C--D5823 -Make referrals to other health care professionals when appropriate, HLTCOM408D - WD084 Use specific health terminology to communicate effectively) where students lean the skill requires to work in a massage therapy clinic. The Diploma units (HLTHIR506 Implement and monitor compliance with legal and ethical requirements, HLTCOM503B  Manage a practice) is where students learn the skills needed to set up and run a massage business. 
— WHS. These units (HLTWHS300A Contribute to WHS processes, HLTIN301C Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures) allow students to learn workplace health and safety issues in the massage industry and how to operate safely in a massage clinic.
— Moodle. Belinda is the section coordinator for the online support and delivery. She has worked with other departments to create their online delivery of units, such as the Graduate Certificate of IPL and Laser Hair Removal. She is the support person for students logging in to their email and Moodle account. She has completed a scholarship in e-learning where she gained skills in a variety of e-tools and she particularly enjoys creating educational videos.
Remedial Massage Therapist
Belinda has been massaging for more 12 years, she has work with the WAFL bulldogs and in the corporate environment. She started her business About Transformation in 2006, she ran her business through Fremantle Physiotherapy centre until 2010. In 2009 she started Archer St Massage in Carlisle. She sold this business in 2012 after successfully setting up a busy clinic that contracted three therapists and integrated management systems. In 2013 she set up a small home based clinic and now specialises in manual lymphatic drainage
Director
Belinda was the WA director for the Australian Association of Massage Therapists From  2008- 2013. She was on the WA committee from 2006 and in 2008 became a part of the national board. AAMT is a non-for-profit organisation that aims to lead the Australian massage industry. As a board member she is actively involved in the development of the Australian massage industry. She has undergone various directors training including the Company directors course with the Australian institute of company directors.

Gym Instructor
Belinda undertook training as a gym instructor after completing her diploma of remedial massage because she felt that it would complement her therapeutic massage. She worked at curves gym for women as a gym instructor and facilitator of the weight management eating plan.

Natural Therapist
Belinda completed a diploma of natural therapies in 2002 and believe that her knowledge in supplants, herbs, nutrition and homoeopathy complement her therapeutic approach to holistic health.
Nanny
Belinda spent has spent more 8 years living abroad working as a nanny and backpacking around the world, she has visited more that 35 countries. Most time was spent in Brazil, Switzerland and Egypt where she has worked as a nanny. She is fluent in spoken Spanish, French and Portuguese.
